Fire Department
The Great Barrington Fire Department protects a diverse area with a substantial downtown, densely populated neighborhoods, large mills, rural areas with little water supply, mountains, fields, rivers, and lakes.

The Health Department is responsible for ensuring compliance will all food service, septic system and well construction, lodging, public pools, recreational camps, residential housing, and tobacco regulations.

The Highway Division provides safe and maintained highways, sidewalks, and drainage systems for the residents of Great Barrington.

Mason in Great Barrington and Ramsdell in Housatonic comprise The Great Barrington Libraries, a municipal department overseen by the Town Manager.
